Choice of Activities

We are always trying to find ways to suit activities to all our 34 Residents – which is all about choice and considering the needs of many.  We are implementing a new style of activity planning where we aim to put on 3 types of past time on twice a day as well as respond to the more personal 1:1 needs of our clients.  This afternoon had discovering Romania & Budapest with Rick Steve in the Studio, a popular traveller who brings countries alive with his repertoire and led by our Activities Lead Abbie, a rather fantastic (and fiercely competitive!) match of Dominos in the Dining Room led by our Social Club Coordinator Sue and some enthusiastic Sing Along Songs (with easy to read subtitles) happening in the Garden Room over seen by our Care staff.  It was  a wonderful opportunity for everyone who wanted to take part in something to choose what suited them.  Equally there was a calm atmosphere in our Reception for newspapers or book reading if that was more appealing.  Choice, choice, choice….it is what it is all about.
