It’s Official! Nikki Burridge- our NATIONAL FINALIST

As you know, Nikki Burridge, our Catering Manager has reached the national finals of NACC Chef of the Year 2021.  Nikki is so passionate about feeding our clients the best produce in the best and most varied and nutritious way and nothing is ever too much trouble; it is just fantastic she is being celebrated and highlighted in this way. The grand final is in October and we will keep you informed of how she does.  We just wanted to bring to your attention the efforts this fantastic lady goes to for our Residents and for it to be recognised by a wider audience is just what she deserves. What you may not know is over and above being an multiple Royal Welsh award winning baker who does personalised birthday cakes for every Resident (without fail whether she is on shift or not) – she is known as the ‘feeder’ here who provides irresistible sustenance for all our hard working team daily – with a ‘bacon butty Wednesday’ here and a stack of chocolate brownies that appear in the Care Office there…not to mention personalised bags of homemade shortbread for our District Nurses and other visiting professionals.  Nikki is one in million and we are extremely fortunate to have her here at PH and could not be prouder to cheer her on in October.

Her menu entry was sensational and our Residents had been able to taste her trial efforts and give their feedback which was so useful: – Meatloaf with Gravy and Colcannon with Leeks followed by individual Black Forest Pots
