Cleaner (Part Time)
Job Description Cleaner (& Relief Housekeeper when needed)
(Various shifts: Earlies 7am to 1pm, Lates 1.30 – 7.30pm)
Job Purpose: To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
Reporting to: Head of Housekeeping & General Manager
Important: Due to the rural location of Penpergwm House and limited bus service, this role is only suitable for those who have a driver’s license and the use of a vehicle at all times.
Hours: Average 15 hours a week with potential to pick up more
Job Responsibilities:
- The complete all cleaning duties as allocated in the Cleaning; Daily, Periodic and Monthly Work Instructions
- To follow the Universal Infection and Control Procedures throughout your cleaning duties
- To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the home
- To assist with the laundry processing as and when required
- To use all equipment and cleaning products following manufacturer’s instructions
- To ensure that all cleaning equipment and products are cleaned and stored safely after use
- To adhere to all health and safety regulations
- To report any faults, hazards or visible risks immediately to the Housekeeper and Care Home Manager.
- To undertake such training as required to maintain the highest cleaning standards
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Housekeeper or the Care Home Manager
Person Specification:
- Demonstrate practical domestic skills
- Empathy with elders
- Good level of physical health
- Good communication skills
- Good understanding of health and safety issues
- Good time management
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work alone adhering to a schedule
- Clean driving licence
- Good understanding of Universal Infection Control
