Autumn 2

RESIDENTIAL CARE

Our Residential Care’s aim is that an individual will feel as comfortable and familiar in the care home as they would in their own home, bringing with them whatever personal possessions they want and taking part in whatever activities that appeal to them as individuals.

We have wonderful rooms to accommodate up to 34 clients which are very well equipped and provide both comfort and surroundings that clients can feel at home with. Our professional and caring staff are on hand to assist with each individual’s needs. Both permanent places and short-stay/respite placements are available and visitors are welcomed at any time that suits our clients not the Home.

We offer single rooms, with or without en-suite facilities and there are also a small number of larger bedrooms available to individuals who appreciate the extra space that these rooms offer. Rooms are attractively decorated and furnished and residents may also bring their own furniture if they wish. All rooms have washbasins, digital television points and private telephones, for which no rental charge is made. Certain pets can be accommodated by special arrangement.

Dedicated, caring, experienced, qualified and trained staff are available to assist residents as required, as well as residents also benefiting from regular visits from a wide range of healthcare professionals when they are required. Doctors from the local surgeries, district nurses, a local dentist, chiropodist, hairdresser and optician visit the Home on a regular basis. Some of these incur a small extra charge.

All meals are home-cooked on the premises using local produce, with a choice of delicious and nutritious dishes on a weekly menu and any special dietary requirements are catered for.

There is a comprehensive call system installed and there are two 8-person passenger lifts so those with limited mobility can easily access all areas of the home.

The exterior is extensive both front and back with various seating areas to eat or take part outside during the warmer months.  Also during the year is a wonderful additional space for all our Residents to enjoy, exercise and share with our own chickens, who are particularly fond of being fed!
