Trying New Things Is Important

We always talk about and endorse the concept of carrying on ‘living’ when you come to Penpergwm House and that is so core to everything we try and do.  Catering for 34 Residents is quite a task in itself – with everyone’s different likes, dislikes, cultures and preferences to consider – not to mention allergies and intolerances!  We are so lucky to have Nikki Burridge – an award winning chef (and self proclaimed ‘feeder!’) who never stops trying to satisfy the Clients with food that appeals and nourishes.  However, she also never stops trying to engage them with new flavours, taste sensations and ideas and that is what we appreciate the most.  It is not always easy and she is frequently rewarded by very honest opinions –  both positive and negative I may add!  This never stops her from trying again and again.

Today  she painstakingly made freshly homemade ravioli stuffed with fresh ingredients and homemade authentic sauces that made the whole team feel like we were walking around the streets of Northern Italy with the smells coming out of the kitchen this morning.  Served with salad and her own home made baked garlic bread – the Clients were transported.  It is so important for our Residents to feel that that they can still experience new and wonderful things and we will always endeavour to support them and give them an opportunity to do so.  Thank you Nikki – you really do make all the difference.
