Uskulele In The Sunshine – A Perfect Afternoon

There was palpable excitement about today’s music entertainment.  A local 11 piece ukelele band from Usk.  We had been praying for good weather to ensure that they could all come and we wanted all Residents to choose how they wanted to enjoy the concert.  In the sun or shade obviously, having a ice lolly or not, wearing a sunhat or not…. but giving choice is more than that – for some being able to watch from Garden Room for it not to feel too loud or overbearing was important or Barbara, who actively chose to go up to her room above the garden knowing she could enjoy the music from the comfort of ‘her flat’ – which was wonderful.  She giggled when we agreed she was in the Royal Box and at the end all the musicians dutifully waved and curtsied to her at the window!! Likewise, Hazel returning to her room, having been away, in raptures at the wonderful welcome and had her french doors open and sat enjoying the entertainment.  A truly joyous afternoon with everyone enjoying it in their own way.
